The I.G.B. project didn't seem to work so Gillan and Towns started working on another idea, which eventually evolved into Gillan (the group). This first proto-version did one gig at the Reading festival. This line-up also recorded the version of "Fighting Man" that appear on the European version of the album Mr Universe. They possibly also recorded some material for the Japanese Gillan album. Scroll downwards for more details.
